Moka Pot produces a concentrated, rich coffee with more intensity than a traditional filter brew. It works particularly well with coffees that have chocolate, caramel, and nutty characteristics.
Starting recipe
18g coffee • 270g water
Grind: Medium-fine
Method
1. Heat the water
Bring your water close to a boil before adding it to the lower chamber.
2. Add coffee
Fill the filter basket with 18g of coffee. Level the grounds without tamping.
3. Assemble
Carefully assemble the Moka Pot and place it over medium heat.
4. Brew
Once coffee begins flowing into the upper chamber, reduce the heat.
Remove the Moka Pot from the stove when the flow becomes pale and starts to sputter.
5. Serve
Stir the brewed coffee before serving to evenly distribute the extraction.
Dialing in
Bitter or burnt?
Lower the heat and remove the pot earlier.
